Who is Spencer Dore?
Spencer Dore is Co-founder and Vice President of New Horizon Precision (NHP), an agricultural drone services company that uses large autonomous spray drones to apply fertilizer, crop protection products, and other agricultural inputs across farms throughout Tennessee and the greater Southeast.
In its first year since launch, NHP has served hundreds of customers across thousands of acres, established partnerships with agricultural cooperatives throughout the region, and expanded operations across the Southeast. During that time, the company quadrupled its fleet of agricultural spray drones and expanded its team with the addition of two pilots, reflecting its rapid growth and increasing operational capacity.
A graduate of the University of Tennessee’s Haslam College of Business with a degree in Management and a minor in Artificial Intelligence, Spencer combines a foundation in business strategy and AI with hands-on experience building and scaling a technology company. He has led the development of NHP’s operational systems, customer partnerships, and field operations, helping position the company as a leader in precision agriculture across the region.
Spencer completed both the National Science Foundation’s I-Corps Program and the Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship’s Startup Studio. Since launching New Horizon Precision, he has earned a top-three finish in every university-wide business competition offered through the Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship, placing in Vol Court, the Graves Business Plan Competition, and the Boyd Venture Challenge.
Beyond competition, Spencer has become a frequent speaker on entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, and precision agriculture. He has presented to the Knoxville Chamber, the Knoxville Rotary Club, and agricultural cooperatives across Tennessee, and has served as a guest lecturer in University of Tennessee courses on entrepreneurship and emerging technologies.
A systems thinker by nature, Spencer is passionate about transforming complex technologies into practical solutions for agriculture while helping shape the next generation of entrepreneurs through innovation, education, and the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence.
