What is World’s Fair Furnishing Company?
Knoxville’s status as a major college town creates a unique challenge for students: furnishing their temporary homes. Many students purchase furniture to create a comfortable living space but face significant hurdles when it’s time to move. Bulky items are often too costly or inconvenient to transport, leading to a cycle of donation, resale, or disposal. This results in unnecessary financial burdens for students and contributes to environmental waste. This startup addresses this problem by tapping into the furniture rental market. By acquiring low-cost, and often free, high-quality inventory, we restore and professionally clean items for rent. This model provides students with a low-cost, flexible, and sustainable way to furnish their apartments and dorms. Customers can rent items for a fixed period with the option to renew their “lease” or purchase the furniture outright, providing them with ultimate flexibility and peace of mind.
