Who is Dr. Harish Manyam?

Leadership & Academic Roles
Dr. Manyam serves as Chair of the Department of Medicine, Chief of the Division of Cardiology, and Chair of Erlanger Medical Group at Erlanger Hospital, University of Tennessee Chattanooga. He also serves as Chair of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine – Chattanooga. He previously led the Electrophysiology program at Erlanger and held faculty appointments at Case Western Reserve University, where he also directed the Lead Extraction Program at University Hospitals.
Pioneering Contributions
A trailblazer in cardiac innovation, Dr. Manyam was the first physician in the United States to implant an extravascular implantable cardioverter defibrillator (EV-ICD) beneath the sternum and the first in Tennessee to implant an atrial leadless pacemaker. He developed one of the first virtual reality simulators for training physicians in complex cardiac procedures and has contributed to national training protocols.
