Who is Brian Washington?
Brian Washington is the CEO and founder of AluminAiry. Brian earned his PhD (2024) and Master of Science (2022) degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and his Bachelor of Science (2020) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alabama. During his graduate studies, he worked under the guidance of Dr. Thomas Zawodzinski, where he gained expertise in energy storage technologies and electrochemical techniques. His research focused on enhancing the performance attributes of air electrodes and their structures implemented into fuel cells and metal-air battery systems. AluminAiry was founded in April 2024 with the dream of making the world a more sustainable place for the future by generating energy from one piece of aluminum at a time.

What is AluminAiry?
AluminAiry has a growing team of experts with multiple years of experience in energy storage technology, recyclability of aluminum materials, and scale-up manufacturing processes. Additionally, we have established partnerships with the University of Tennessee for product development, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) for future pilot demonstrations, and Tennessee Tech University for simulated grid implementation of our targeted technology.
