About the event
The PYA Ballard Innovation Award Pitch Competition and Reception will take place on March 21 from 3 to 5 p.m. ET at the University of Tennessee Research Park. During the event, the five finalists will pitch their companies before the crowd and panel of judges. Attend to hear from PYA’s President and CEO Marty Brown, featured guest Deborah Crawford, UTK’s Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation, & Economic Development, past award winners and more.
The event is followed by a cocktail reception.
About the award
The PYA Ballard Innovation Award, established in 2021, allows emerging companies to compete for a $50,000 investment of capital and in-kind services to support their innovative ideas. The award is the largest combination of cash and in-kind services available to East Tennessee startups. The award is named in honor of Tom Ballard, PYA’s Chief Alliance Officer and well-respected member of the entrepreneurial community.
